The Alpujarras contains about 100 whitewashed villages set on the side if the Sierra Nevada mountains that is home to the Mulhacen, Spain’s highest mountain. The first time one comes the Alpujarras it feels like going back in time. Local Villages
The secluded Hooting Owl is set just below the charming white-washed village of Juviles. Close by is Cadiar, a bustling pretty village with shops, bank, school, medical centre, swimming pool, restaurants and bars etc.... Here are the best of both worlds – privacy and seclusion and yet not isolated – with the village close to hand when required for spot of shopping, a romantic diner or to meet some of the locals.

The Mountains
Set in the Sierra Nevada mountains, once home to the Moorish Kings of Spain, and under the massive mountain Mulhacèn (3300M) the Hooting Owl is beautifully nestled in a mountain valley. There are many walks for all ages and abilities. The infamous GR7 runs close by and is the longest walk in Europe.
